Hi. My name is Miranda and I’m new to this site. I am 22 years old and have had two tricuspid valve replacements. Is there anybody else out there with more than one replacement?

  2. Hi Miranda,
My name is Rebecca I am 22yrs old I was diagnosed with EA at 18yrs, that was when I started getting the symptoms.Especially the SVT causing syncope’s , shortness of breath etc…. I had two perfect labors with no complications. They are both healthy but still closly monitored. I havn’t had any type of surgery done for my EA, just a bunch of tests. I was told by the my cardiologist that I didn’t need any surgery now. But that I should in the future. How did your valve replacement work for you? Is it worth it?

  4. My husband, who is now 41, received a pig valve replacement in his early twenties. At that time he was having shortness of breath. He bikes and works out almost every day now. I would say it was a benefit. He had his operation done at Mayo as well. We see Dr. Wu at Boston Children’s Hospital in U.S. every year to keep an eye on everything. He says my husband is stable even after 20 years. He will most likely need it replaced within 5 years we are told though. You wouldn’t know my husband has any issues except for some circulation issues (cold hands and feet, and some thrombosis of the legs.) Hope this helps.

  5. I’m sorry I haven’t been on here in a long time! A lot more people now! I have had two triscupid valve replacements. One when I was 18 months old and 18 years old. I didn’t have much of a choice but I’d say if you need it then yes it is worth it. I now am married to solider (deploying very soon :( ) we have two beautiful daughters and I’m able to have more. :)

Lynette- that really is reassuring to me, I’m so worried this valve won’t last long and I want to be able to see my kids grow into beautiful adults. :)
